United Way

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is proud to have long-standing partnerships with the United Way of Greater Topeka, United Way of the Plains, Salina Area United Way and the United Way of Reno County.

We hold our annual United Way campaign in the fall, which is our largest employee giving campaign effort. Our campaigns are held in our Topeka, Wichita, Salina and Hutchinson offices. The efforts to support these United Ways are heavily concentrated on our employee giving campaign, but our partnerships are year-round.

Our year-round efforts include providing continued education to employees and through corporate volunteerism opportunities. Although this year’s campaign looked different than most, employees gathered, virtually, together to hear how these organizations continue to move Kansas communities forward. We don’t just listen at BCBSKS. We put our hands to work to make a real, tangible difference in the lives of fellow Kansans. The campaign resulted in not only a generous monetary donation, but also provided our fellow Kansans notes of encouragement in the midst this trying time. During campaign week, employees took the time write words of encouragement for those in need. The encouragement notes were sent to United Way partner agency organizations. We are thrilled to share this year’s grand campaign total. Here is what our employees, retirees and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation made possible.

United Way is an organization focused on creating community-based and community-led solutions that strengthen the cornerstones for a good quality of life:  education, financial stability and health.
